What Keeps Stress Going


Stress can keep going after the initial cause of the stress has gone.  This is partly because the stress may have affected our behaviour combined with the fact that we may have become a more negative thinker.  Negative self-talk can actually change the brain chemistry, and continuing such thoughts over time can actually rewire the brains circuitry to think (not sure what this is meant to be) is to of mental activity that is mediated by the effects of brain chemicals called neuropeptides.  Change your thoughts and you change the neuropeptides that dictate what you feel and how you behave.  Change your thought pattern long enough and you actually change the circuitry of the brain.
